Montrel recently booked a role in the upcoming film SELMA. The film is produced by Oprah Winfrey (Harpo Films), Brad Pitt (Plan B Entertainment), and Cloud Eight Films. The film stars David Oyelowo (Martin Luther King, Jr.), Tom Wilkinson (President Lyndon Johnson), Common (James Bevel), and Carmen Ejogo (Coretta Scott). There are also many other solid actors/actresses including Cuba Gooding, Jr., Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Roth, Oprah, and Wendell Pierce.  Selma will be directed by the award winning Ava DuVernay (at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, DuVernay became the first African-American woman to win the Best Director prize for her second feature film Middle of Nowhere).

Selma is about Martin Luther King, Jr., President Lyndon Baines Johnson, and the civil rights marches that changed America.  The film will focus on King’s historic 1965 voting rights campaign.

The film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film will see a limited release this Christmas (12/25/2014) and then a full nationwide release on January 9th, 2015.
